There are so many young people in America that are inspired to start a new life in the big city. Many of the world’s most famous superstars have started their careers from scratch in the Big Apple. Madonna, the most successful female recording artist of all time, moved to the magical city with just $35 in her pocket (though in 1978) and spent several years trying to work her way up to stardom However, in the worst recession for many decades, moving to New York without a guaranteed job may not necessarily be a wise decision.

If there was ever a place that needed to save on its energy, it’s New York. Aside from Las Vegas, New York is one of the biggest energy wasters out there. And don’t get me wrong, I love my city. It’s just that sometimes, just sometimes, I look around at my city and wonder what happened…so many lights and so much money down the drain…

There’s the New York State Energy Plan for one thing – a scheme which looks after the state’s energy needs by putting forwards recommendations on the future of energy – which might be of interest to anyone looking to gain employment in the sector, and that’s just one of the things which is changing the way citizens think of energy consumption.
